A leading umbrella services company has launched a dedicated tax service to meet the growing demand of EU nationals taking up senior jobs in the UK.
I-paye has already been recruited by one major bank as part of its international deployment process to advise executives relocating on various taxation issues.
Paul Hughes, director and taxation specialist at I-paye, said: “One of the most interesting aspects of the current economic climate is the inward migration of highly skilled EU nationals. These workers are often not familiar with our income tax and social security system.
“A growing number of recruitment agencies, clients and contractors are approaching us to help them negotiate the potential taxation minefield which can easily trap the unwary or badly advised.
“While a foreign national may put in place an acceptable solution for the UK taxman, problems may arise back in someone’s home country which may lead to double taxation. It is in response to the growing number of enquiries we are receiving that we have launched our dedicated Tax Director Service for EU nationals.”
